Allison Akana has been working as a licensed residential Real Estate Agent serving clients throughout the Bay Area for over 30 years. Allison’s ability to effectively negotiate, advocate and to achieve results has won her the admiration and loyalty of both clients and colleagues alike. Allison believes that in order to be a successful Realtor one must pursue a life of service, demonstrate integrity, and have a strong work ethic in order to achieve the best outcomes for her clients.

Allison incorporates her diverse experience as a health care provider, educator, researcher and real estate investor into her business model. She understands the local marketplace and is well-versed in communities throughout Silicon Valley and San Mateo County, including coastal communities. Allison purchased her first home in downtown Palo Alto in 1975 and soon after purchased a rental where she pursued her love of rehabilitating homes and welcoming low-income renters through the HUD Section 8 Program. In 1989, Allison obtained her Real Estate license and worked for over 13 years with Alhouse-King Realty in Palo Alto, one of the few independently owned real estate firms at that time.

She subsequently worked for REMax and REMax Dolphin Real Estate firms before joining Intero Real Estate Services in 2013. Intero is a Berkshire Hathaway Affiliate and one of the largest real estate agencies in the Bay Area. Allison has been a Real Estate Broker since 2005.

Over the course of her career, Allison has developed a special interest and expertise in assisting older adults through the process of "aging in place” in their homes or transitioning to alternative living situations when necessary. In 2008, she earned the Senior Real Estate Specialist Designation from the National Association of Realtors to better understand and meet the real estate needs of adults ages 55 and older.

Allison’s Real Estate business model is referral-based, and she has a stable following of loyal clients who she’s helped to buy and sell multiple properties over the years. Typical comments from her clients include, “Allison is such a joy to work with….” “Over the past 20 years, Allison has helped us buy and sell our two peninsula homes. She has earned our complete trust and lifelong gratitude.” “I have worked with several real estate agents over the years, through multiple purchases and sales. And while others have been competent, Allison is extraordinary.” “Within one day [Allison] inspected the house, gave us advice about what needed to be done, lined up inspectors and a photographer, and researched disclosures. [Her] phone calls and emails showed that [she] worked day and night to get everything done precisely. [She] took on the worry so that we could relax.” “Allison Akana is a skilled and experienced professional. Experience truly matters in high stakes real estate transactions.” “With impressive integrity and creativity, [she was] very pro-active with the negotiations, enabling both the sellers and buyers room and time to consider, discuss, and come to an agreement that was a win-win for both sides.” “She has an uncanny knack for reading people.”

Allison lives with her wife in Half Moon Bay, where she is surrounded by beauty and the most amazing ocean view. Her motto is, “Never miss a sunset.”
